Our Intermediate oven has been built to carry out all of the cooking that you would do in our larger ovens but with a much smaller footprint. This is the first size in our range that incorprates a smoke inlet mechanism into the oven compartment. This oven does not have the insulation that our larger ovens have.
This oven can reach the temperatures required to cook pizzas properly and reaches easily 450 degrees. Unlike many small steel ovens, this oven will perform the task that you buy it for. When comparing this oven to others, ask the seller if their oven will reach at least 450degrees which is about the minimum to cook authentic full flavoured pizzas. It is not only the wood fire that creates the flavour but the high temperature that instantly melts and caramelizes your cheese.
The oven consists of a firebox and oven compartment, both of which may be used to cook in. So if you like that smokey flavour in your pizzas or meat then cook in the firebox with the coals, or open the smoke vents in the oven, and for scones or bread or to lessen the smokiness you can use the oven compartment with the smoke vents closed or partially closed.
- The firebox compartment measures 670mm wide by 225mm high by 520mm deep, this allows you to cook a large pizzas in the firebox or a leg of lamb or chickens. You can also slow cook casseroles and bake bread.
- The oven will reach temperatures of over 450 degrees celsius in the oven compartment and over 550 degrees celsius in the firebox. With a small amount of wood you can hold the oven at over 350 degrees for a very long time.
To create added atmosphere and add warmth in winter you can cook with the firebox door open and sit in front of a beautiful open fire.
